Barton Creek
Barton Creek Cave is one of the most beautiful caves in Belize, and is explored on via canoe. You glide through a remote underground water cave system in canoes equipped with powerful spotlights. It is believed that the Mayans once used this cave for ritual ceremonies. While canoeing you can see large and colorful formations, skeletal remains and other cultural artifacts left behind by the Mayans centuries ago. From the cave's entrance it's about a mile through the cave to the stopping point. This adventure is located only 45 minutes away from the Resort. Upon your return back to the resort, you will travel through many Amish and Mennonite settlements as well as enjoy stunning views of the Belize countryside.
