Ever have a friend tell you about a tiny little trick they use that makes travel SO much easier?

Whether it’s rolling your clothes to fit more inside your suitcase, stuffing your socks in your shoes, or an amazing credit card that gives you cash back on travel purchases, these simple things can make all the difference in how you travel. So your good friends here at Ka’ana have compiled a list of quick & easy travel hacks that will have you traveling like a pro in no time!

A dryer sheet will keep your clothes smelling fresh.

Before you zip up that suitcase, throw in a dryer sheet! It will keep your clothes smelling like “summer meadow” or “soft lavender” throughout your trip.

Ask that your luggage be marked as “fragile”.

Not only will they be treated with more care, but they’ll go on top of all the other checked bags, which means they’ll also come out on the baggage carousel first!

Use plastic wrap to prevent shampoo leakage.

Place the plastic wrap over the top of the bottle before putting the cap on. If the cap comes loose during transit, there’s much less chance of the liquid getting all over the inside of your bag!

Bring an empty water bottle to the airport.

Once you’re through security, you can fill it up at the water fountain. And on the plane, ask the flight attendants to fill it up for you so you stay hydrated and land refreshed!

Use compression bags to keep your clothes compact.

These things work like a charm! Simply place all your folded clothes into the bag and squeeze the air out. By making your clothes take up less space, you’ll have more room for souvenirs!

Store pocket change in a lip balm tube.

This brilliant hack comes to us from Thrillist. When you’re looking for somewhere small to store your money when you’re on a hike or at the beach, you really can’t do better!

Enable private browsing when booking flights online.

Open an Incognito Window in Chrome and try your flight search again. Sometimes the airlines will increase the price of a ticket if they know you’ve looked for it before! Always double-check.

Scan your important documents and email them to yourself.

In case your passport or itinerary are lost, you’ll have a backup copy. This will also speed up the process of getting a replacement passport. You can even do this with maps and guidebook pages that you want to be sure you don’t lose.

GoogleTravelHack

Google your flight number to check the status before you leave home.

Just type your flight number into Google and you’ll immediately see whether it’s on-time, what gate it’s leaving from and your arrival info. No need to go to the airline’s website for this anymore!

Ask your hotel to replace things you forgot.

Didn’t put the sunscreen, razor, shampoo or toothpaste in your suitcase? Don’t worry! Most hotels and resorts will be able to replace any of these items for you! At Ka’ana we’ll do everything in our power to make sure our guests have everything they need for the perfect vacation.
