Earlier this year we welcomed some new family members to Ka’ana: our first chickens! Our staff carefully built a hen house on the grounds… and our baby chicks made themselves right at home.
As cute as they were, we knew these little ones would grow up one day. And of course the tradeoff would be worth it! Today we’re happy to announce that Ka’ana officially has its first batch of organic eggs from our very own farm!
It doesn’t get more locally-sourced than this.
Starting this month, guests who order eggs for breakfast at Ka’ana will be getting them from just down the path – past our sheep and right next to our organic vegetable garden.
Kids and adults alike have loved visiting our feathered friends on the farm. Feel free to ask our gardeners to show you around and explain some of the incredible ways Ka’ana is making every aspect of the resort more sustainable.
There aren’t too many hotels that can boast to being one of the world’s leading resorts and having their very own chickens.
We at Ka’ana of course pride ourselves on the big moments: a sunset climb up a Mayan temple, a close encounter with a jaguar, or a plunge into a mysterious cave deep in the jungle. But we often find it’s the small things: a breakfast in bed with farm-fresh eggs, that keep our guests coming back again and again.
We can’t wait to introduce you to our friends.
