Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, George Venson moved to NYC in 2008 and is based in Chinatown.
Best known for his hand-painted wallpaper installations for high-end residential projects, Venson launched Voutsa (pronounced Voo-tsah, a name derived from his Greek heritage) in 2013. Voutsa is a New York-based lifestyle and interiors brand that specializes in signature hand-illustrated and digitally reworked wallpapers and custom murals designed for whimsical and modern living.
Engaging with all things patterned, Voutsa has created custom pieces, pillow forms, sculptural designs for folding screens, hand-painted wallpapered lampshades, readymade products and a wide range of collaborations between artists, designers and corporations.
Venson holds degrees from Rice University in economics and visual arts. Voutsa designs have been featured in Interior Design, The World of Interiors, Architectural Digest Daily, Details and House Beautiful among other publications.
