It's Time to Experience Summer, Belize-Style
Everyone wants to come to Belize in the winter, and we understand why. When it's freezing at home, who wouldn't want to escape to the tropics? But many travelers don't realize that summertime is also an ideal time to visit Belize. Here are six reasons why:
Affordable Flights
Airlines know that demand peaks in the winter, and rates change accordingly. During slower months, the price to fly to Belize can drop precipitously, often to half their winter levels. You'll save big on transportation from major US cities like New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and even on flights from London.
Morning Yoga
Wake up and seize the day with poolside yoga here at Ka'ana. As the jungle birds make their first calls of the morning, you'll be stretching out and finding inner balance. Afterwards, take a plunge in the pool for a cooldown.
Riverside Picnics
Enjoy an authentic Belizean lunch with the soundtrack provided by the burbling Macal River. Our team will handle the food preparations, all you'll need to do is sit back and sample the delicious offerings. Don't forget to jump from our riverside swing into the cool waters.
Cool off with Cocktails
The award-winning team from Bar Lab has created an enticing menu of locally-inspired cocktails featuring fresh flavors from our garden. A few favorites to enjoy after a day exploring? The Jungle Mist, with vodka, cucumber puree, sage leaves and lime juice, and the In Ruins, tequila with a spicy chili reduction, lime juice, and a puree of whatever's growing in the garden that day.
Exploring the Country's Most Famous Cave
Summer is the perfect time for a cave adventure here in Belize. The ATM Cave is one of the country's top attractions, so exploring its cool crevasses in low season means fewer neighbors. Check out why this cave—with its wildlife, gorgeous scenescapes, and calcified human skeletons—is the perfect day trip here.
Our Weather Doesn't Actually Change That Much
In Belize, it's sandals-weather all year long. Summer months are slightly warmer than winter months, but average maximum temperature hovers between 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit 365 days a year. And you're likely to enjoy a cloudburst just as much in June as you are in January (although we do have a dry season from February through April).
