Ka’ana Garden | Food & Farm in San Ignacio, Belize

From Our Garden

Before an ingredient reaches your plate or glass, part of its story may begin only steps away. Ka’ana’s garden connects the kitchen to the property in a tangible way, giving you a closer look at herbs, fruit and seasonal produce while showing how food in Cayo is shaped by climate, season and place.

WHAT IS GROWING NOW

The garden changes with the season, and that is part of its character. Rather than a fixed display, it is a working space where what is thriving today may become tomorrow’s garnish, infusion, sauce or ingredient. Take a moment to notice what is actually growing during your stay.

GARDEN TO KITCHEN

The strongest connection happens when something from the garden appears again at La Ceiba or Wallace Bar. Herbs can move into cocktails, fruit can become part of breakfast or a house-made preparation, eggs come from the chicken coop on the property, and seasonal produce can influence selected dishes. As you move from garden to table, you can see how what grows here becomes part of what you taste.

EXPERIENCE THE GARDEN

You can explore the garden as part of your stay and experience it more deeply through food-led activities such as the Maya Cooking Class and selected garden gatherings, including mornings when you can gather eggs from the chicken coop. The Guest Experience Team can help connect the garden to the culinary experiences available while you are here.

A LIVING PART OF KA’ANA

The garden is not decoration; it is one of the places where the relationship between Ka’ana and Cayo becomes visible. It adds texture to the food story and gives you a quiet place to understand where some of the flavors around the property begin.
