We celebrated five consecutive years of World Traveler Awards
For the fifth year in a row, we were named Mexico & Central America's Leading Boutique Resort by the prestigious World Travel Awards! These are like the Academy Awards for the travel industry, and we are thrilled to have been honored every year since 2015. This honor means a great deal to the entire Ka'ana team as each and every member works so hard throughout the year to make sure our guests have nothing short of an unforgettable stay.
A celebrity visit kicked off a Kind Traveler partnership
We were so happy to host This Is Us' Jon Huertas earlier this year to help us celebrate our partnership with Kind Traveler, which empowers guests to not just book a hotel, but to be a force of good by donating $10 or more to a charity that will benefit the health and wellness of individuals, animals and the environment within the area of the hotel they are staying in. Our charity of choice, Cayo Animal Welfare Society (CAWS), provides a better life for all the domestic animals of our region.
Not only have we supported this amazing organization, but we've even taken in some furry friends ourselves!
We launched a sustainable seafood menu with Eat Right Fish Right
This year, we worked with the Wildlife Conservation Society to become officially certified by Fish Right Eat Right as a sustainable seafood provider! We are so proud that every dish in the Ka'ana kitchen is now certified to prove that we follow all standards to promote and educate staff and our customers about the consumption of sustainable seafood items. Along with our other green initiatives launched this year, we are so excited to open this new chapter of sustainability!

Once again, we were honored to be named one of TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice properties in 2019! We were also named one of the Top 10 Hotels for Romance in Belize! These awards are the direct result of the glowing reviews guests leave us on TripAdvisor. Like we always say, you arrive at Ka'ana as a visitor, but you depart as family. We can't wait to welcome you back next year!
Itz'ana Opening
Last but certainly not least, our sister resort in Placencia is opening this month! The gorgeous Itz'ana Resort & Residences, an 18-room luxury hotel, is located on a Caribbean beachfront peninsula, framed by the sea, and ready to welcome its first visitors. Will you be one of them?
